The father
James Redro
Rugged and work-worn; he reads the treeline before anyone else. He turns tenderness into orders — and trades his life for their time. One man, two doors.

The Story of a Curse Carried
Made in the spirit of Warcraft, and the stories we grew up on.
“No safety. Only breath, axe, bell, and wind — and the silence that waits between them.”
Work in progress
Early generated clips from across the story — the night it breaks, the run for the horses, and a quiet hand of chess long after.
It holds at the treeline, feints the front door — and comes through the back.
Back door to the barn, and Sable into the snow — two children, and the dark behind them.
Far from the treeline, years on: a hooded traveler, an old man, and a game played to its end.
There is no score. Tension in Keti is entirely diegetic — breath, axe, bell, wind, a newborn’s cry, running water, and the silence between them. The camera never tells you how to feel. The night does.
From the world
Frames and reference plates from the making of Keti’s first winter.
The craft
Keti isn’t captured one lucky frame at a time. It’s authored — a locked canon poured through a repeatable process that keeps a face, a wound, and the fall of light consistent from the first beat to the last. This is the part most people skip. It’s the whole reason it holds together.
A story bible and a single canonical script are locked before a frame is generated. Every character, prop, and location has one true version — nothing downstream is allowed to contradict the source.
The script is rewritten to the model's grain. Each of the 23 beats is pre-sized to Seedance 2.0's ~15-second ceiling, so a shot is a single clean generation — not a fight against the tool.
Every shot records its continuity-out state — the light, the blood, the breath, the position of a hand — and hands it to the next. The cut never forgets what the last frame knew.
Character, prop, and location reference sheets hold the line across hundreds of generations, keeping Keti's eyes, her scars, and her oxblood leather exactly themselves from the first beat to the last.
What the night takes
A farmstead at the edge of the kingdom, and the family Elizabeth spends the night trying to save.

The father
Rugged and work-worn; he reads the treeline before anyone else. He turns tenderness into orders — and trades his life for their time. One man, two doors.

The mother
The warm center of the home, the newborn always at her chest. She reads James's face and moves without arguing — and buys her children's escape with her life.

The brother
Fourteen and mid-growth-spurt. Glib when it's safe, a kid's fear when it isn't. He catches Elizabeth at the river — then watches her rise as something else.

The mare
The family's horse. Trembling but loyal, she doesn't bolt when Elizabeth reaches her — she carries both children into the dark.
Before, the treeline, after
The whole story lives in the distance between the first face and the last.

Before
Eighteen. A farmgirl at the edge of the kingdom, on the last ordinary night of her life. She is the whole of what the story stands to lose.

The treeline
What comes out of the pines. Not a monster with a plan — a hunger with a shape, carrying the curse it will pass to her before the night is done.

After
What Elizabeth becomes. Black fur, oxblood leather, and eyes the color of the ice she was born on. Not cured, not tamed — carried.
Companion ballads
Not the film’s score — the film keeps its silence. These are ballads written in Keti’s voice. Hear them in the player below.
Keti's vow
Verse 1
I walk the moonlit road
Through fog and old stone
My hands remember claws
My mouth remembers bone
The city holds its breath
When I pass by the gate
I know the shape I wear
I know my own hate
Verse 2
There are scars beneath my sleeves
Like maps no priest can read
Each one a vow I gave
Each one a sharpened need
I hear the wolf turn slow
Behind my quiet face
Not as a hanging doom
But something I must place
Pre-Chorus
So I keep still
Let the storm pass through
I count my heartbeats
Until they sound like you
Chorus
I keep the wolf
I keep the wolf
Not slain, not gone
Just held so still
I keep the wolf
I keep the wolf
In quiet strength
In iron will
Verse 3
My loyalty runs deep
Like wells under frost
I stand beside my name
For everything I lost
If I must kneel tonight
I kneel to hold the line
To guard the ones I love
And keep the beast in time
Verse 4
The fog will swallow doubt
The dark can learn my pace
I do not ask for peace
I ask for one true face
If my hands shake at dawn
If my throat tastes of war
I will still choose the road
I have chosen before
Pre-Chorus
So I keep still
Let the storm pass through
I count my heartbeats
Until they sound like you
Chorus
I keep the wolf
I keep the wolf
Not slain, not gone
Just held so still
I keep the wolf
I keep the wolf
In quiet strength
In iron will
Bridge
Let the moon look down
Let it know my name
I am not broken
I am not tame
I am the woman
And the beast I bear
Two shadows walking
One vow to wear
Final Chorus
I keep the wolf
I keep the wolf
Not slain, not gone
Just held so still
I keep the wolf
I keep the wolf
In quiet strength
In iron will
I keep the wolf
I keep the wolf
And in the dark
I learn to live
